Join us for a FREE Rated Rapid Chess Tournament by SMTX Chess Club! This will be a US Chess Federation rated tournament, meaning all participants must be registered USCF members. Purchase youth memberships for $24/year at the USCF website. Limited scholarships may be available if needed, please contact ben@mfplibrary.com for more information.

Please register each participant and include their USCF membership number in the appropriate field. 

Tournament Details:

• Sign-in begins at 10:00 AM. Announcements and briefing will occur at 10:20.
• Swiss tournament, 5 rounds, G/15 inc/5 (15 minute clock for each player with a 5 second increment).
  • Round 1 start time: 10:30 AM
  • Round 2 start time: 11:30 AM
  • Round 3 start time: 12:30 PM
  • Round 4 start time: 1:30 PM
  • Round 5 start time: 2:30 PM
  • NOTE: If you need a half-point bye round because of scheduling conflicts, please contact ben@mfplibrary.com with the round you will need a bye (limit: 1 bye round). Must commit before round 1 begins.
• Three sections of players (sections may be combined depending on the amount of registrants):
  • Under 600 rating (or unrated)
  • Under 1200 rating
  • 1200 rating and above
