Successful library programs are designed with age in mind. Please note this program’s age guidelines. Attendance at all library programs is subject to staff discretion.

Math Adventures through Games for children in kindergarten

Description: This program will build practice and confidence in mastering addition and subtraction for children in kindergarten. The program will run over 8 weeks in September through October 2025, one meeting per week for 1 hour each week. The child will participate in a small group with a program leader in 2 interactive activities each week.  

Program Purpose/Goal:  The program purpose is to increase math competency for the local Comal County Kindergarten students through active participation in Math Adventures through Games.  The goal is for students to demonstrate competency in addition and subtraction by actively participating in games. The child will have opportunities for counting numbers to 25 and will read, write, and represent whole numbers from 0 to 25 with and without objects and pictures.

The Mission of the program is to inspire lifelong love of math based on gaining additional practice through interactive math games. Gaining a strong mathematical foundation for children will help build a knowledge base for future math growth and application to life skills. 

Please register each child individually. This program is best for Kindergarteners. Please note the program purpose/goal to know if it will meet your child’s needs and abilities.
