Accessibility

The library makes every effort to ensure a welcoming and accessible environment. We can provide accommodations for people with disabilities or food allergies at library events. Please contact programs@mfplibrary.org at least seven days before the event to request accommodations.

Age Guidelines

Successful library programs are designed with age in mind. Please note this program’s age guidelines. Attendance at all library programs is subject to staff discretion.

Photo Permission

Library workers often take pictures during library programs to use in promotional materials and online. If you do not want your photo used, contact programs@mfplibrary.org.

Come play American mahjong at the library! Practice your mahjong skills as you enjoy snacks and discussion with fellow mahjong players. The library has four mahjong sets for use by attendees, which can accommodate 16 players. You may bring your own set and current American National Mah Jongg League card if you prefer, but if all the library sets are in use, players must take turns playing games.

The library’s mahjong sessions are not led by an instructor, but attendees are always willing to teach each other! This is an open club led by library community members. You do not need to register — just come by and join us wherever there is a seat!

Please note that this gathering is for casual mahjong play and informal instruction only. No money may be exchanged, and no advertisement for non-library mahjong events may be made.
