Successful library programs are designed with age in mind. Please note this program’s age guidelines. Attendance at all library programs is subject to staff discretion.

Library workers often take pictures during library programs to use in promotional materials and online. If you do not want your photo used, contact programs@mfplibrary.org.

Come play American mahjong at the library! Practice your mahjong skills as you enjoy snacks and discussion with fellow mahjong players. The library has four mahjong sets for use by attendees, which can accommodate 16 players. You may bring your own set and current American National Mah Jongg League card if you prefer, but if all the library sets are in use, players must take turns playing games. 

The library’s mahjong sessions are not led by an instructor, but attendees are always willing to teach each other! By registering for this program, you will also be signed up for future meeting dates this year and will receive a reminder the day before each gathering. If you are on the waitlist for this program, you are welcome to stop by the Reading Room during the 11:30am – 1:30pm hours to see if there are any cancellations or empty seats. 

Please note that this gathering is for casual mahjong play and informal instruction only. No money may be exchanged, and no advertisement for non-library mahjong events may be made.
