Join us for an engaging performance and discussion with Eduardo (Eddie) Vega, also known as the Taco-Poet of Texas — the 7th Poet Laureate of the City of San Antonio. Vega is a poet, spoken word artist, storyteller, and educator. His poetry contributes to the physical landscape of the city as well as its cultural fabric, appearing in limestone etching along the San Pedro Creek Culture Park, on a downtown San Antonio building, and on VIA buses.

Vega is the author of two poetry collections — Chicharra Chorus (2019) and Somos Nopales (2024) — and the editor of a collection of poems written by South Texans, Asina Is How We Talk (2022). We are thrilled to welcome the Taco-Poet to the Mammen Family Public Library!
